YEmily is a beautiful stirling Emerald engine. She is dark green and has two big driving wheels.
Bio[]
Emily was built in 1895 at Doncaster Works as the third series of GNR Stirling locomotives who worked on the Great Northern Railway until she was withdrawn around 1916.
A long time later in 2003, when Emily was new to Sodor, she took Annie and Clarabel as her coaches and greeted each engine she passed by, but Edward, Percy and especially Thomas weren't happy, especially that Sir Topham Hatt ordered him new coaches, much to the E2's dismay, for he wanted Annie and Clarabel back. Emily didn't realize why the engines weren't happy with her until Oliver told her she took Thomas' coaches. Later, when Emily saved Oliver and Thomas from an accident after Oliver broke down at a crossing, The Fat Controller gave her the coaches Thomas brought in, which were more of her "style". Thomas and Emily apologized to each other and became good friends.
Basis[]
She is a GNR Stirling 4-2-2. 53 members of the class were built between 1870 and 1895 and were withdrawn from service between 1899 and 1916. The first-built member of the class Stirling No. 1 is the only member of its class preserved and is currently at the National Railway Museum in Shildon.

Trivia[]
- Fans sometimes consider her to be number 12, but since she was never given a number, she does not fall under the category. However in 2020 (One year after Engine of Sodor was finished) in Season 24 Emily has finally been given the number 12 on her tender.
