The Most Famous Engine is a two part special. Part 1 was uploaded on May 25, 2017 whilst Part 2 on June 10, 2017. It was originally supposed to be the finale for Season 3, but was postponed due to many issues including Trainz problems.

Though he has gotten better and no longer abuses his coach, Crovan is still boastful and rude as usual. After a nasty accident during a visit from the Flying Scotsman, can the famous green engine help get Crovan to get his act together before it's too late?

  • This special features the Crovan and Spencer rivalry that was supposed to be the seventeenth episode of The Engines of Sodor.
  • Whilst the first part was largely the same script from the one written back in November 2016, the second part was drastically different. In the original script, the entire second part would be Crovan conversing with the Flying Scotsman at the Steamworks. The story was re-written as T1E2H3 felt it didn't have much action.
  • Events from the book Enterprising Engine and episodes Gordon and Spencer are mentioned. Also, events from the NWR Origins episode The Trouble with 3 are shown in a flashback, and a still of Alfred from Disgrace of the LNER is also used.
  • When Crovan chases after Spencer, an instrumental of the song "Streamlining" from The Great Race is heard.
  • This marks the first apperance of WildnorWester/Sodor Workshops's Flying Scotsman model as well as Sodor Workshops's Salty model.
